DescriptionThe Public Health Project Coordinator (Clinical Coordinator) is responsible for overseeing the nursing, medical assisting staff and other specified areas of the Immunizations Clinic/Office in collaboration with Nursing Leadership and the Immunizations Program Manager. This includes accountability for efficient patient/workflow, customer satisfaction, staff satisfaction, productivity, and achievement of operational goals as defined by practice leadershipExamples of Duties* Supervises day-to-day operations of assigned areas to ensure efficient customer responsive procedures and operations.* Working knowledge of childhood immunizations, VFC Program and COVID-19 vaccinations.* Ensures efficient and effective scheduling for the clinical staff and maintains Time & Attendance program. Collaboration with Immunizations Program Management in coordinating timekeeping and time off requests.* Oversees tasks that optimize workflow; provides suggestions to continually improve processes and the customer experience.* Communicates thoroughly and promptly with Immunizations Program leadership, providers, triage, and staff regarding all issues impacting day-to-day operations.* Coverage of VFC vaccine program when needed.* Participate in annual, state-mandated site visits for Vaccine for Children (VFC) providers to ensure compliance with VFC guidelines for vaccine storage and handling procedures, screening, and documentation methods, and to ensure that providers have the most current immunization resource materials available.* Attends required meetings and training and participates in committees as requested.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree Public Health, Business Administration, Health Science Administration or other related field, with two years experience in community engagement, community organizing, and project coordination and implementation.Prefered:* Preferably Bachelors degree of Nursing* Current, unencumbered License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan* Minimum of 10 years' experience working as a Registered Nurse* American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification (healthcare provider)Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted to meet the education and experience requirement of this position.Supplemental InformationEvaluation Plan* Interview: 70%* Evaluation of Training, Experience & Personal Qualifications: 30%* Total of Interview and Evaluation T.E.P: 100%Additional points may be awarded for:* Veteran Points: 0 - 15 points* Detroit Residency Credit: 15 pointsLRD: 05/23/2023EMPLOYMENT BENEFITSThe City of Detroit offers a competitive and comprehensive employee benefit package.
