Join the PANTHERx team, and define your own RxARE future in healthcare!Location: Pittsburgh, PAClassification: Non-ExemptStatus: Full timeReports To: RxARECARE SupervisorPurpose:The Clinical Pharmacist manages the drug distribution and specialty pharmacy activities for a variety of patients enrolled at PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy. The role creates and oversees safe and efficient methods for coordination of specialty pharmacy policy concerning drug patient care and provides clinical drug information to meet the needs of the patient and their healthcare team. In addition, the Pharmacist also manages pharmacy technicians and other supporting roles daily.Responsibilities:
- Completes verification of prescription drug orders for completeness.
- Communicates with prescriber offices for order clarification and coordinates care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Communicates with patients regarding prescribed therapies, both specialty and non-specialty, to improve patient compliance and adherence.
- Facilitates prior authorizations and enrolls patients in financial assistance programs.
- Verifies prescription orders during prescription fulfillment process.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians during daily activities.
- Performs clinical pharmacist duties during on-call hours on a rotating basis; on-call duties may involve transporting products to and from Panther facilities.
- Additional projects and activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Active and valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist
- 2-4 years of specialty pharmacy experience
Work Environment:This position operates in a well-lit, mail order distribution pharmacy environment. Role routinely uses pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies. Physical Demands:Individuals must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 20 pounds; and utilize the computer and bar code scanner. Must be able to use proper personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, gloves, eye protection and face masks when needed.
