Overview:
A top-ranked research university is currently searching for a highly skilled and organized Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRS II) to join our team for a high-visibility research project . This position requires a candidate with strong lab skills and flexibility to work occasional weekends or after-hours.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage study-related activities, including participant recruitment, consent, and data collection, for the East Palestine chemical spill study targeting 300 participants.
Travel once per week to East Palestine, Ohio, for blood draws and specimen processing. These visits will occur during weekends or after hours and are reimbursed for mileage.
Work collaboratively with Case Westerns Mobile Phlebotomy Unit or other mobile units to process samples, ensuring timely and accurate specimen handling.
Perform laboratory testing and specimen analysis, including blood sample collection, processing, and organizing data.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment relevant to the study, ensuring that all procedures are completed in accordance with established protocols.
Maintain detailed and accurate data logs and records, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with research guidelines.
Collaborate with six partner institutions on the study, attending bi-weekly meetings to discuss project progress and updates.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of lab equipment and work areas, adhering to laboratory safety protocols.
Requirements: Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree
At least 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator or related role.
Proficiency in general lab skills, including specimen collection, blood draw techniques, and sample processing.
Ability to travel once a week to East Palestine, Ohio, for day trips and work weekends or after hours as needed.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Experience working on highly visible research projects and collaborating with multiple institutions.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with environmental health or clinical research studies related to chemical exposures or toxicology.
Familiarity with phlebotomy and mobile unit specimen processing.
