Position#Summary Provides clinical support to Nurse Residents/Registered Nurses during their orientation and transition from novice to experienced RN. Facilitates and supports as they develop critical thinking skills, provides educational experiences and mentoring that facilitate the promotion of competent nursing practice and quality patient care. # Primary Position Responsibilities 1 Facilitate and coordinate clinical teaching to reflect knowledge of content area 2.Establish an environment that promotes learning and works well with all HMC staff regarding teaching situations 3.Maintains Professional Development 4.Patient Advocate 5.Maintain patient safety 6.Other duties as assigned # Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: Bachelor#s degree in Nursing Preferred: Master#s degree in Nursing or related field Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: 3 years of acute care experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing. Preferred: One year of critical care experience. License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association CPR certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Preferred: Certification in specialty Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education. Unit specific skills may include but not limited to IV therapy, basic arrhythmia interpretation, vent training, critical care, conscious sedation, Bi-Pap/CPAP and EndTidal CO2. Skills will be determined by a challenge exam and/or skill performance or by completion of a Staff Development course. NIH Stroke certification
