About the job Clinical Service Director Job Title: Clinical Service Director (Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC or Master of Social Work (MSW) Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)) Reports To/Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer/Program DirectorQualifications: A masters degree/PhD in social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university. A minimum of three years of experience providing mental health treatment to troubled children and families. Registered with the Board of Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC or Master of Social Work (MSW) Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) Registered with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional- Child (QMHP-C) and/or Qualified Mental Health Professional-Eligible (QMHP-E) per the Virginia Board of Counseling regulations or be qualified to apply for the license. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a positive role model for children/adolescents and adults to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors, and contributes to formulation and implementation of the treatment plan Maintain active liaison relationships with referral sources, both internal and external, and work collaboratively with funding sources, and other organizations. Establish the design and development of the clinical aspects of program services in collaboration with the CEO. Directly supervises Counselors and Case Managers. Review Continued Stays Meets weekly with workers to provide clinical guidance, assess dynamics and needs of each case, determine the appropriateness of therapeutic strategies, and assess service delivery and planning progress. Provides supervision Provides training as warranted Review service recipient files to ensure proper and complete documentation of action and services and compliance with all applicable licenses, policies, and regulations Review all clinical notes weekly Review all reports to ensure compliance with all applicable timelines, policies, and regulations Review clinical assessments Evaluate worker performance and take appropriate employee disciplinary actions Maintains excellent customer service Responsible for the identification and resolution of problems or gaps in service delivery. Provide emergency on-call coverage in rotation with other team members as needed. This may involve both phone work and in-person contact over a 24-hour period. Maintain required records accurately, comprehensively, and in a timely manner. Keeps required consumer data up to date and submits paperwork as per program policy. Work in a collaborative and collegial manner with other staff, both intra- and inter-agency in assisting both the program's clients and the program to meet identified goals. Ensure the confidentiality of all clients and/or employee-related information.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of youth and family counseling. Though knowledge of principles and techniques of basic interviewing and assessment skills. Working knowledge of the human services system and relevant community resources. Ability to conduct facility meetings. Ability to form effective supervisory relationships with subordinate staff. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchases, and service recipients.
