Position Title Clinical Skills Model Assistant Department DeBusk Vet Teaching Center Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description

The Clinical Skills Model Assistant will work with the coordinator to design and construct models used in the clinical skills curriculum. This person will monitor the condition of teaching models and intervene when necessary to replace parts or do routine maintenance. This person will be required to assist in the set up and break down of clinical skills laboratories and to work to assist veterinary technicians as needed.

Required Qualifications

* high school diploma or equivalent; *in good professional standing.

assist coordinator, in consultation with veterinary faculty, in developing and constructing clinical skills teaching models in a capable and efficient manner;

monitor the condition of existing models and provide routine maintenance and repair when needed;

optimize efficiency in ordering, creating, using, and repairing models;

maintain records of the model construction process;

innovatively solve model-based challenges including those related to durability, tactile properties, and function;

assist in clinical skills laboratories, including set up and tear down;

supervise veterinary student research assistants

support veterinary technicians as needed.
