Our partnerships with organizations in the region strengthen our work and expand its reach.The Clinical Social Worker provides direct services, including coordination of care, evaluations, counseling, and referrals to the patients and research participants of the Memory Disorders Program (MDP). This bilingual team member, proficient in Spanish and English, connects all aspects of care including, but not limited to, clinical care, research, resources, and support services. This role centralizes and coordinates all services and support provided by the Memory Disorders Program. Collaborating closely with the MDP Research Providers and the Community Engagement Specialist to establish and improve effective recruitment and retention from communities underrepresented in research into MDP clinical trials, the Clinical Social Worker has additional responsibilities that include but are not limited to:+ Develop programs and informational materials tailored to various communities, coordinating and participating in community events, meetings, and workshops in collaboration with the Community Research Liaison.+ Develop patient and participant care plans for MDP and MGUH Neurology providers who serve Spanish-speaking patients, research subjects, their families, and other underserved groups.+ Educate and counsel MDP patients, participants, and their families about local and community resources and support services.+ Administer global rating scales and cognitive assessments to Spanish-speaking MDP research participants.+ Coordinate research and clinical care services for MDP patients, study subjects, and their families, focusing on serving the underrepresented and underserved communities.+ Counsel and educate patients, research participants, and their families referred by MGUH Neurology Providers about dementia research and care.+ Supervise trainees and volunteers to include staff, medical students, and other students.+ Support MDP and MGUH Neurology clinicians in providing the highest quality of care to patients and participants by coordinating care, educating, and ensuring access to available support services.Requirements and Qualifications+ Master's degree in Social Work+ 5-7 years of experience or equivalent relevant work experience+ Appropriate State or Government license with fluency in Spanish and English; Certification in Spanish language interpretation is preferred+ Clinical Social Work experience is required; E xperience in Geriatric Social Work is strongly preferred+ Excellent organizational, communication and networking skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively with investigators and community members to establish long-term working relationships+ Attention to detail is critical and must be self-directed with a solid base of social work, community engagement and outreach skills+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate successful track records using analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and clearly+ Demonstrated knowledge of PC software programs including Windows, MS Office, internet and email+ Experience in clinical research and/or medicine strongly preferred.
