Job DetailsJob LocationNew York, NYPosition TypeFull TimeEducation Level4 Year DegreeSalary Range$65,000.00 - $68,000.00 SalaryDescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the oversight and execution of all therapeutic, case management and programmatic requirements for the Discrete Medicaid funded ClinicMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations
- Responsible for conducting individual psychotherapy on a weekly basis and completing all necessary documentation such as psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes in a timely manner.
- Provide mental health referrals as needed
- Regularly assess the safety and well-being of all clients being served
- Participate in foster parent psycho-education workshops
- Participate in weekly clinical team meetings to provide mental health updates as well as educational updates on children
- Work in collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems and institutions to maximize resources
- Assist in the development of the child's educational plan
- Attend IEP meetings and/or school related conferences.
- Advocate for tutorial services as needed
- Ensure quality assurance and excellence in service provision
- Participate in required LSSNY trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- On call 24 hours crisis intervention for child/adolescents and foster parents
SUPERVISES:
- Social Work Interns if qualified
Qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life
- Strong interest in working with foster care youth and children and families at-risk
- Strong clinical, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to facilitate trainings
- Superior organizational skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications and OCFS Connections
- Ability to communicate in Spanish (read, write and speak) is a plus
EDUCATION:
- Master's degree in social work from an accredited University
- LMSW or LCSW required
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years post masters experience working with children, families and adolescent populations
- Knowledge of substance abuse prevention & treatment
- Knowledgeable of psychotropic medications and familiar with medication risks and side effects
- Strong mental health background; proficiency in mental health diagnoses

- Ability to effectively express ideas using speech, listening and writing skills to influence others and convey Program purpose and goals
- Ability to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities and allocate time and resources effectively
- Ability to effectively meet and communicate face-to-face with Program stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively toward solutions that generally benefit all involved parties to accomplish overall organization objectives
