Job Description:
The Bowery Mission is a holistic, Christian faith-based organization dedicated to serving people who are experiencing homelessness. The Choose Help - Clinical Services Team supports program services by helping to establish a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed community that fosters positive and growing relationships with God and others, invites guests to Choose Help, and equips clients to Make Progress toward independent living. The Clinical Supervisor will supervise and support the Clinical Services team at the Bowery Campus to establish a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed community that serves as the first point of contact for guests to experience the transformational love of Jesus Christ demonstrated in practical actions and invites guests to Choose Help (CH). The Supervisor will equip and train the Clinical team to perform and coordinate all services related to the social and mental health needs of guests including clinical evaluations, assessments, and internal/external referrals that support a holistic continuum of care. Support team to achieve excellence in standards of guest care, census and outcome goals, hospitality, physical safety, and crisis intervention. Foster effective collaboration across campus departments, including Community Life, Make Progress Programs, Spiritual Formation, Operations, and Volunteer Services. In collaboration with the Program Director, foster and develop external partnerships to expand CH programming. Provide support to Campus Leader as needed.The Supervisor's responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to:
  • Support clinical care at the assigned site
  • Carry a small caseload of assigned clients
  • Provide the clinical team with daily guidance, support, and supervision
  • Ensure clinical interventions align with overall program objectives and comply with department protocols
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and external providers in support of client goal achievement
  • Review case records for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulations and procedures
  • Quality assurance review of clinical interventions, services, and procedure
  • Conduct timely training for professional and clinical skill development
  • Complete psychosocial assessments
  • Manage crises and subsequent debriefs with the team
Shift: Sunday - Thursday 9am - 5:30pm, Fri/Sat. offReports to: Program Director, Choose HelpRequirements:
  • Embraces the organization's Statement of Faith
  • NY State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LMSW or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or a combination of education & additional work experience
  • Previous experience working with low-income families and individuals, mental illness, and/or substance abuse
  • 3 years in ministry, non-profit, or human services with supervisory and strong customer service duties.
  • 3 years of clinical services with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity
  • The ability to build effective relationships/partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven flexibility, multi-tasking, and problem-solving ability
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a medical, substance use, mental health, and/or community-based setting strongly preferred
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Publisher, Access
  • NY State Clinical Lic: LCSW, LMSW, LMHC
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Knowledge of regulatory body policies, procedure
