We are hiring a Clinical Supervisor to work Full-Time in our residential treatment center based in Lower East Manhattan.
BASIC FUNCTION: Assists the Director in operating the program effectively and efficiently in compliance with the policies and procedures of LESC, OASAS, CARF, and other oversight agencies. Provides clinical Supervision to clinical and administrative support staff. Responsible for delivering all clinical treatment services in a program transitioning to the OASAS 820 certified residential services program.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Interviews clinical candidates for hire.
- Facilitates bi-weekly groups for clients in the Live-out phase, following completion of residential treatment until graduation.
- Documents and implements clinical supervision and weekly interdisciplinary staff meetings.
- Administrative Supervision of clinical discharges
- Reviews and signs off on all treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and discharge planning documentation.
- Implements and ensures compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Oversees compliance with all referent communication and HRA STARS verification and reporting.
- Leads 820 utilization review process through coordination and collaboration with UR Specialists.
- Responsible for adjudicating client issues, including processing grievances and appeals of administrative discharges.
- Ensures that staff maintains accurate and confidential clinical records that comply with external monitoring agency standards and internal policy and procedures.
- Prepares all proposals and reports as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for program operations in the absence of the Divisional Director.
- Provides and implements formal orientation plans to newly hired direct subordinate staff.
- Conduct regular clinical and administrative meetings with staff.
- Prepares written annual evaluations on staff under their Supervision. Review evaluations of all clinical staff members.
- Represents LESC during OASAS, CARF, and other in-house audits.
- Balances weekly petty cash budget and manages Metrocards.
- Instruct clinical staff on writing group notes, treatment plans, summaries, and reviews.
- Selects and creates curriculum for substance use counseling.
- Audits clinical charts for compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Develops and supervises tracking system to monitor in-house counselor tasks for quality improvement.
- Supervises undergraduate and graduate students' fieldwork.
- Oversees client systems including client orientation, structure.
- Provides ongoing training for clinical staff and participates in agency trainings.
- Leads clinical quality improvement activities in collaboration with Divisional Director.
- Works with NIDA Clinical Trials Network, when applicable
- Assigns client cases to staff.
- Facilitates weekly staff meeting.
- Fills in for other staff who are on leave.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- This position will require availability as needed including on call responsibilities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Master's or bachelor's degree; Advanced-level CASAC (Credentialed to provide clinical Supervision under OASAS guidelines) required. Prior supervisory experience required, Or
- Master's Degree with a NY State License in Social Work (LMSW/LCSW) or Mental Health Counseling (LMHC).
- Minimum five (5) years full-time experience in the substance use field, including direct service; knowledge, experience, and skills working with populations with co-occurring disorders; minimum two (2) years experience supervising clinical staff; computer competent.
