Job DetailsJob Location New Rochelle - New Rochelle, NY Position Type Part Time Education Level Masters Degree Salary Range $45.00 - $55.00 Hourly Travel Percentage No Travel Required Job Shift Day Description This part-time position is in Iona University's Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic which is part of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department in the New York-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences. This position includes supervising undergraduate or graduate SLP students and assumes all professional SLP responsibilities for client care. Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead planning and orientation meetings for clinical preparation including administrative tasks, student clinical requirements, EMR training and clinical case development.
- Provide direct clinical supervision and professionally responsibility for screening and diagnostic evaluations of all clients assigned following Iona University Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic protocols, adhering to ASHA and state ethical standards of practice for in person and remote sessions.
- Provide direct clinical supervision and professionally responsibility for design/treatment sessions following Iona University Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic protocols, adhering to ASHA and state ethical standards of practice for in person and remote sessions.
- Provide direct client services for therapy and evaluation demonstration and student absences.
- Demonstrate effective clinical teaching mentoring students to develop their clinical knowledge and skills, adhering to the clinic protocols, and following ASHA's supervisory guidelines.
- Review all clinical reporting and providing feedback for the development of professional writing.
- Support students with verbal reporting and client related interactions
- Full responsibility for client record / EMR chart
- Provide summative and formative constructive clinical performance feedback frequently to support formal midterm and final student evaluations completed through Calipso.
- Submit clinical grade to course instructor
- Schedule and complete midterm and final student meetings
- Maintain accurate student records on Calipso including student clinical requirements and clock hours.
- Assist the Director with administrative tasks such as CALIPSO, CAA requirements and participation in clinical staff meetings
- Perform other job-related duties including workshops to students and generating new therapy programs
- Hours variable (including evenings and weekend)
QualificationsQualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- New York State Licensure
- ASHA Membership in Speech-Language Pathology
- TSSLD or TSHH as appropriate
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience
- Maintenance of professional liability
- Professional is responsible for credentialing
