- Escort patients to exam rooms and document visit information and vitals, including height, weight, and blood pressure.
- Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed by a clinician or RN, or per standing orders.
- Assist with and perform procedures such as ear lavage, EKGs, and bladder scans.
- Complete the standard rooming process, including medication reconciliation, allergy reviews, pending refills, immunization updates, and supporting clinical quality by completing necessary forms and questionnaires.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, coordinate benefits (COB), and explain coverage or billing denials.
- Address patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance charges, and payment options.
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and clinic policies.
- Chart patient information in EPIC and work with GMPS and phone applications.
Required Qualifications:Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications and possess a valid BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross; online certification not accepted):
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Current state license of practical nursing.
- One or more years of nursing experience (preferred).
Medical Assistant (MA):- Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assisting program.
- One or more years of experience in a related field of medicine (preferred).
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):- Graduate from an accredited EMT program and hold a current Minnesota EMT license.
- High school diploma or GED.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):- Certified in the state of Minnesota.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with both patients and the healthcare team.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting and other clinic systems is a plus.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred) are an advantage.
Schedule:
- 36 hours a week(Mon-Wed 8:30am-5pm; Thu 12:30pm-6pm, Fri 8:30am-4:30pm) OR
- 40 hours a week (Mon 7am-5:30pm; Wed 7am-5:30pm, Thu 7am-6pm; Fri 7:30am 5:30pm)
