Part-Time Clinical Support Staff

Location: 20116 Ashbrook Place, Suite 110 120, Ashburn VA 20147

Pay: $20 - $24/hour DOE

Embark at Ashburn is looking for part-time Clinical Support Staff who align with our mission of reducing adolescent and young adult anxiety, depression and suicide to join our OP, IOP and PHP clinic in Ashburn, VA. Clinical Support Staff provide broad support to our outpatient behavioral health team by helping lead group therapy, assisting with client check-in and orientation, and helping clients practice skills that promote emotional regulation.

Embark operates behavioral health facilities across the US that support adolescents, young adults, and their families by offering a full continuum of care from Long Term Residential and Wilderness Therapy environments to our IOP/PHP clinics to online outpatient care. Our local IOP/PHP clinics are a critical part of our strategy to increase access to life-saving mental health treatments for families with insurance.

The Clinical Support Staff is a part-time position will be paid $20-24/hour. Hours are variable and subject the clinic's needs. Our PHP Program runs M-F from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM. IOP Program runs M-Th from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Shifts would start 30 minutes before and end 30 minutes after each program. Attendance at team meetings outside of these hours may be required.

Experience working with youth is a must. Experience working in a behavioral health setting is strongly preferred however education in a behavioral health science related field may substitute for actual work experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the clinical staff in supporting clients in treatment groups and activities.
  • Supervises the students and ensures that they are being safe to themselves and to those around them.
  • Helps clinical staff enforce Group Rules and Norms.
  • Rewards and praises students for positive behavior.
  • Assists students in processing through the students various issues and concerns.
  • Develops a healthy and meaningful staff/student relationship with each student.
  • Advises students regarding problem solving and offers healthy coping strategies for dealing with the students emotions.
  • Observes and charts student behavior, affect, and participation.
  • Comforts and supports struggling students. Listens to them as needed.
  • Role models in all areas.
  • Monitors the environment surrounding the girls at all times for safety, and is aware of emergency procedures.
  • Provides care and monitors symptoms for individuals with moderate or high risk of suicide.
  • Assists Clinical Team in Assessing clients for suicide risk and performing appropriate screening for suicide risk when needed.
  • Works to create a therapeutic environment on shift.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance is essential.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion or near completion of bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral Sciences strongly preferred. Completion of high school diploma is a minimum requirement.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health setting
  • Ability to pass a state background check
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Flexibility a must.
  • First Aid & CPR certified preferred.
