Job Details:
The Clinical Support Tech greets all patients and visitors entering the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensures that all patients have a prescription; if needed, contacts the schedulers or MD office to obtain it.
* Assists the nursing and technical staff with preparing patients for their procedure (ie: direct them to changing room, or restroom.)
* Assist patients with scheduling appointments with the Coordination of Care department.
* Handles scheduling issues with the Coordination of Care.
* Distributes patients' paperwork to appropriate area, notifying the area of the patient's arrival. Registers patients for scheduled procedure.
* Collects and documents any co-payments that may be due at time of service.
* Enters requisition orders as needed.
* Provides CDs and/or faxes reports to MD offices upon request.
* Monitors the supply of patient robes.
* Responsible for obtaining previous mammography/breast US images and reports from other imaging facilities for comparison.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum two years of experience in a clinical setting, either in an acute hospital setting or medical office, with knowledge of basic patient care functions. Scheduling and registration experience required. Computer skills required. Strong organizational skills are essential. Excellent customer service skills necessary.
EDUCATION:
High school Diploma.
