This includes working with clinical logistics and crisis services to optimally coordinate patient flow. The CTL is dedicated to safety, may serve as a de-escalation trainer, promotes utilization of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention tools, and remains situationally aware of patient status and overall milieu acuity. On an ongoing basis, the CTL evaluates individual and collective outcomes of the patient care provided during their shift, compares patient care delivery to accepted standards, adjusts assignment of resources, and reports changing needs and outcomes to the staff. Because the CTL observes patient care delivery and outcomes as provided by coworkers, they may be asked to contribute observations to individual employee evaluations, suggest proficiency evaluations, or to advise and educate fellow staff.
