The successful candidate will join a team of two other ophthalmologists, two residents, and three ophthalmology technicians. Start-up funds will be made available to help develop clinical skills, research, or scholarly activity.Responsibilities: •The primary job responsibility will be leading a clinical ophthalmology service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, involving both the small and large animal clinics. This will include primary patient care and supervision of clinical care delivered by students, interns, and residents assigned to the ophthalmology service. •Additional service responsibilities include consultations within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and with outside referring veterinarians, participation in continuing education programs of the College and participation in faculty governance activities. •Applicants must be committed to excellence in patient management, client service, and clinical teaching.•Teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory and small group clinical instruction in ophthalmology and related disciplines. Clinical instruction in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be directed primarily toward professional students and ophthalmology residents, with occasional participation in the instruction of interns and residents from various other disciplines.•Active participation in general ophthalmology service activities and engagement in the ophthalmology resident training program is expected. •Research responsibilities will vary based on the interests and qualifications of the candidate.
