Job Description:
A national manufacturer wants to hire a military veteran as a Clock Assembler. A strong candidate will be able to complete the following tasks:- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints or sketches related to the creation of large clocks, specifically clock faces and hands from specified material, this material includes cast aluminum, aluminum shapes, metal, cast acrylic, Lexan, and other plastic- Attach hands to time piece and test mechanics to make sure the time piece is keeping correct time- Fabricate clock casing, attach time piece, clock face and hands according to plans- Collaborate with design staff and other team members to refine designs and ensure manufacturability- Measure, cut, shape and assemble materials related to large scale clocks to specified dimensions- If performing a restoration, carefully disassemble existing clock, then replicate any damaged or non-functioning pieces- Use machine and hand tools to cut and form pieces to required dimensions, reinforces parts if necessary- Use hand and bench power tools, torsion wrenches, jigs, and assembly fixtures, as well as precision measuring devices- Perform light welding on aluminum shapes and castings- Maintain a clean, neat and safe work environmentMinimum qualifications:- Ability to follow through on assignments in a timely manner- Proven experience as an assembler or a similar role- Strong knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques- Five or more years of experience with hand tools and general fabrication equipment- Layout and measuring experience- Excellent attention to detail- Ability to work independently and with others- Basic computer skillsBase salary, $50K - $60K, daywork, plus benefits and 401kGreat company, with great pay.
