Job Description:
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Doffs all looms that are standing at shift change and will doff looms that are completed during shift.
  • Walks the loom floor and writes down all of the looms that are going to doff during the shift. This should be done with consideration given to the time the roll will doff. An Approximation of 10 yards per hour can be used to determine the tie of doff.
  • Periodically checks weave room for yellow lights. Also, checks Porini for doffer calls.
  • Before doffing a roll, the doffer will verify that the yardage is correct and will then reset the clock.
  • Once the roll is doffed, the doffer will start the loom and enter the end doffing downtime on Porini.
  • Removes doff sheet from looms to make roll identification tickets.
  • Takes head ends to the greige lab for every doff of specified styles of fabric. Heads ends should also be taken to greige lab at every warp out for all styles.
  • If the fabric roll that has been doffed requires inspection, the doffer will take the roll to inspection and put it on the inspection table.
  • If the fabric does not require inspection, the doffer will take the roll to the doffing station, weigh roll, and input the roll information into the JOMAR system and will print two roll identification tickets.
  • The doffer will then place one identification ticket label on the second layer of fabric on ID side, wrap and tape the roll, then attach the second identification ticket to the outside of the wrapped roll on the ID side of the roll. The doffer will then place the roll on a pallet designated for shipping.
  • Doffer may also fill in for loom cleaner.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management.
  • Works safely to prevent on the job injuries by wearing proper safety equipment and abiding by company safety rules.

The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe shoes.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to talk, walk, stand (for extended periods of time), and hear. This candidate must be able to operate hand tools to cut tubing. This candidate will be required to reach out and overhead with hands and arms, bend and stoop, kneel to floor frequently, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull with entire body weights 200 to 550 lbs (with doff truck) distances up to 325 ft on a frequent basis. The candidate must be able to distinguish the difference in the color of cones. The candidate must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision. Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM. Weekend and overtime may be required as job duties demand.TravelThis position requires little to no travel.Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a pole truck (PIT) and doff truck. Certification to operate these units will be required.
