Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will have the chance to contribute significantly to our firm's cloud and automation strategy, influencing design and implementation within a hybrid multi-cloud environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain our DevOps infrastructure across AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, and other platforms, driving efficiency and innovation throughout the organization. Key Relationships:Reports To: Head of Platform Engineering Other Key Relationships: Cybersecurity analysts, Software Development engineers Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and enhance capabilities within SFM's DevOps infrastructure, focusing on AWS, Azure, and hybrid multi-cloud environments.
  • DevOps Practices: Develop and implement best practices, standards, and supporting technologies to enable engineering teams and improve their efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineering and product teams to understand requirements, assess impacts, and deliver solutions that align with business goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation for all developed processes and infrastructure components.
  • Developer Experience: Enhance and streamline the developer experience by facilitating autonomy, standardization, and the adoption of best practices across the organization.
  • DevOps Strategy: Act as a key advocate for the firm's DevOps strategy, building relationships with business and technology partners to drive innovation.
  • Best Practices: Lead the adoption of DevOps and software development best practices with a subject matter expert mentality, ensuring high standards across the organization.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across various environments, enhancing the quality and speed of code deployments.
  • Automation & Coding: Automate and optimize infrastructure and application deployments through scripting and coding in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Terraform.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Snowflake, with a solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS in hybrid environments.
  • Infrastructure & Development: Experience in cloud infrastructure or server-side development, with a fundamental understanding of containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Networking & Storage: Familiarity with networking, storage, and database concepts.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages like PowerShell and Python, with experience in DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • CI/CD Expertise: Deep understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Octopus, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, Git Actions) and configuration management.
  • Automation: Expertise in automation scripting, infrastructure as code (IaC), and immutable infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Willingness to learn and implement observability frameworks such as Logic Monitor , Azure AppInsights, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, X-Ray
  • Interest in Finance: A strong interest in financial markets and processes is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Ability to craft clear, effective communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in writing scripts using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and experience with technologies like Docker, Lambda functions, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Tools: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Packer, Git, and Jira is considered a plus.
  • Integration with JIRA and GitHub is a plus

  • ETL/ELT Processes: Experience in designing, developing, and implementing ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake and related technologies.
What We Offer
  • We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $200,000-225,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.
