What You Will Do: As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting Oracle OCI environments, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring they align with industry best practices and meet business requirements. How You Will Contribute:
- Manage and administer the OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) environment, including compute, storage, network, and security services.
- Manage and deliver full end-to-end cloud migrations.
- Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of OCI resources, promptly addressing any issues or anomalies.
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable architectures within Oracle OCI.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates to provision and manage Oracle OCI resources.
- Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to optimize cloud-based solutions, ensuring high performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to OCI services, Linux operating systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain effective security controls, including access management, data encryption, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new cloud technologies and tools, providing recommendations based on industry trends and best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years as a Cloud Engineer in with strong experience in administering and managing a complex Oracle OCI environment, inclusive of migration(s) to cloud (AWS), compute, storage, networking, and security services in a large environment.
- Comfortable interconnecting cloud networks and doing large OCI migrations. Experience with a variety of Cloud environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in Linux administration tasks related to Linux internals, command-line tools, shell scripting, and system performance tuning.
- Some experience with Exadata is preferred.
- Hands on experience performing some WebLogic Server Administration tasks (Install, Configuring Domains, Deploying Apps, Integrating Systems, etc.).
- Exposure to database administration tasks is a plus.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including access management, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Able to successfully pass a federal background check.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Certification: Relevant certifications, such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect or Linux certifications, are a plus.
