Job Description:As a Cloud Operations and Support Engineer, you will oversee the maintenance, support, and optimization of cloud environments, including Azure and AWS. This role ensures seamless cloud operations through monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices to maintain system performance, security, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for all cloud operations-related queries and after-hours support.
- Monitor application workloads, detect problems, and implement automated remediation for recurring incidents.
- Manage Major Incident Management (MIM) for priority 1 incidents, including coordination, documentation, and root cause analysis.
- Resolve cloud security alerts, enforce compliance with security requirements, and manage certificate renewals.
- Implement and maintain security controls and perform patch management for cluster environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor excessive resource expenditures, and implement billing and cost management tags.
- Update hosting and design documents and develop procedural manuals for cloud operations.
- Manage and maintain the IT Service Management Knowledge Base for reporting and investigation.
- Conduct file-level restorations and manage activity documentation for both agency-specific and enterprise activities.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- 3-5 years of experience as a System Engineer and/or Cloud Engineer with expertise in implementation, security, and standards in Azure and AWS environments.
- In-depth knowledge of networking and connectivity to AWS and Azure (via Direct Connect and ExpressRoute).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services.
- Administrator certifications in Azure and/or AWS (preferred).
- Strong understanding of current and emerging cloud technologies and operational practices.
- Proven operational experience in large enterprise environments.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, change management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, ensuring compliance and security while optimizing costs.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry. cyberThink is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
