Works with quality team to measure parts on the Coordinate Measuring Machine using PC-DMIS software. Plays a strong roll of teamwork between quality and production and can communicate with machinists to achieve the common goal of producing good parts.RequirementsRole & Responsibilities
- Operate CMM using PC-DMIS software
- Use manual gauges and micrometers
- Blueprint reading, GD&T, Excel, ERP systems
- Understand manufacturing processes: Turning, Milling, Gear cutting, and Heat treating.
- Strong communication skills

Work Environment/Physical DemandsThis position operates within the CMM inspection room and has a heavy presence on the manufacturing floor. Employee will be responsible for looking at all angles of parts in the machine and on pallets. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, copiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must lift up to fifty (50) lbs. occasionally.Education/Experience
- 3 years Quality related experience in a CNC machining job shop environment
- PC-DMIS Software experience
- Recommend: PC-DMIS Programming experience
- Recommend: Understanding of CNC turning, CNC milling, Heat treat (carburization, quench & tempering, induction hardening, welding), and gear cutting (Shaping & Hobbing)
Skills/Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attentive to detail; organized.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related accounting, HR and sales software.
