Job Description:

CMSC Family Services Volunteer for EAC

The Community Mediation Service Corps (CMSC) AmeriCorps program is dedicated to enhancing community well-being by equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective conflict resolution. Our program offers two paths: the traditional AmeriCorps member route and the Volunteer Project. The traditional path provides full-time and part-time members with comprehensive training, mentorship, and real-world experience in mediation, allowing them to make a meaningful impact in communities across New York State. Members receive ongoing support and opportunities for professional growth, ensuring they are well-prepared to address diverse conflicts and promote peaceful resolutions. The Volunteer Project offers a flexible commitment of 100 hours with a $2,000 annual living allowance, enabling volunteers to contribute to community mediation efforts while gaining valuable experience in conflict resolution and restorative practices. Volunteers work alongside seasoned professionals, enhancing their skills and making a difference in the lives of those they serve. CMSC AmeriCorps members and volunteers are instrumental in fostering dialogue, understanding, and healing within communities, addressing conflicts at the grassroots level, and promoting long-term peace and cooperation. Through this program, participants not only develop essential mediation skills but also contribute to a larger movement towards justice and reconciliation, creating stronger, more resilient communities across the state.
