Essential Job Functions:Provide physical support to assist residents to perform daily living activities, such as lifting, transfers, assisting with bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, serving and assisting with meals, and taking vital signsObserves and documents the health, behavior, physical and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurseResponds promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine residents' needsPromotes personal safety and the safety of the residents with a clean and safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situation to the nurseCommunicate with nurses on resident conditions, changes and concernsComplete required documentation in a timely mannerProvide companionship, comfort and support to residentsMeet federal and state in-service requirementsPerform other job-related duties as assignedKnowledge and Critical Skills:Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructionsDeal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and familiesEducation and Experience:Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this positionPrefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facilitySupervisory Responsibility:This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory requirementsWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.Physical Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:Prolonged periods of standingAbility to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of residents may involve lifting up to 75 poundsAbility to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry patientsAbility to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigueAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit and reachFine motor skillsCognitive Requirements - The Cognitive activities with or without prosthetics of this position are:Executes tasks independentlyAbility to express yourself clearly and effectively verballyAbility to concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptionsVisual acuityHearing alertnessEnvironmental Requirements - An individual in this position may be exposed to:Ambient room temperatures and lighting Other Requirements -n/aConclusion:All employees are expected to follow all policies and procedures.
