Shift: Part-Time (3 shifts per week with rotating weekends)
Hours: Day 7am-3pm, Evening 3pm-11pm, Overnight 11pm-7am
The ideal CNA candidate will:
Be a Certified Nurse Aide - Must have a NYS CNA license
Possess a high school diploma, this is preferred
Have a strong comprehension of the English language which includes reading, writing, and speaking fluently
Have experience working as a geriatric CNA, which is highly desirable
Have prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility (preferred, but not required)
Experience with SigmaCare (preferred, but not required) Must be fully vaccinated for COVID19
About The Position:Under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, the CNA is an important member of the nursing team in assisting and supervising residents in all activities of daily living. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, feeding, transferring, grooming, mouth care, nail care, etc.
Identifying any changes in the resident's condition and reporting to the nurse
Acknowledging and responding to the resident's calls
Building relationships with and collaborating with resident, families, and members of the healthcare team when planning, implementing, and evaluating care
Verbalizing understanding and demonstrating ability to provide Comfort Care including anticipating residents' needs, gaining knowledge about the individual's important life events, cultural background, and daily routines, providing comfort when needed, and using a person-centered approach when planning the resident's care
Individualizing care considering residents who have impairments including but not limited to visual, auditory or speech impairments
Providing a safe environment and demonstrating Safe Practice including performing rounds and observing and supervising residents, demonstrating safe and proper use of transfer and other equipment, and reporting resident incidents/occurrences to appropriate personnel.
Ensuring that the resident's unit is clean and neat, including beds, personal equipment, clothing, etc.
Performing vital signs, height, weight measurements as well as other clinical competencies including hand washing, transfers, V/S monitoring, personal care, turning and positioning, ambulation, skin care, colostomy care, etc.
