Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Previous hospital experience in geriatric/adolescent and rehabilitation or per recommendation by Director of Nursing.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
- Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
- Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant

Essential:
- Patient Care & Daily Living Assistance: Assists patients with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, feeding, and movement, ensuring care is tailored to individual cultural, age, and developmental needs.
- Vital Signs & Health Monitoring: Conducts delegated tasks (e.g., recording vital signs, intake/output) and reports findings to the licensed nurse.
- Advanced Skills (Under Supervision): Performs specific skills as trained, such as blood glucose checks and specimen collection.
- Safety & Observation: Monitors patient condition, ensures safety, provides 1:1 supervision when needed, and responds to emergencies.
- Patient Rights & Communication: Respects patient privacy and dignity, maintains confidentiality, and communicates effectively with patients and families.
- Admissions & Discharges: Assists with patient admissions and discharges, handling personal property as needed.
- Resource Management: Uses supplies efficiently, handles hazardous waste properly, and maintains cleanliness.
- Body Mechanics & Infection Control: Uses proper body mechanics to prevent injury and follows infection control protocols.
General Performance Standards:
- Adheres to hospital policies, safety protocols, and shows respect and teamwork with patients, families, and staff.
- Maintains reliability, punctuality, and professional appearance.
- Participates in self-improvement and education, follows positive community image standards, and upholds work area cleanliness.
Non-Essential:
- Supports additional duties like transporting patients, helping with staff orientation, clerical tasks, and inventory management.
