DescriptionResident AssistantSTARTING RATE: $16.00/hr.JOB DESCRIPTION:Resident Assistant provides non-direct resident/patient care. This position is designed to provide experience that leads to a facility sponsored CNA trainee program. The CNA training program will consist of classroom instruction, clinical practices and on-the- job supervised training which leads to acquiring the knowledge, skills and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.RESPONSIBILITIES:Replenishes unit supplies as directedMake-up unoccupied bedsTransports residents to/from dining rooms, therapies, and activitiesAccompanies residents to an appointment (non hands on tasks)Assists with meal tray passCleans utility and nourishment roomsPasses water to residentsMaintains resident's room, bath and personal belongings including laundry/close, in a clean orderly conditionReports to nurse at the beginning, and end of each shift and anytime leaving the unitReports any changes noted in a resident's condition or behavior to the nurseRespects the resident's dignity, confidentiality, and individualityAttends in-services, including all mandatory in-services, either required by NYS regulation or facility policiesPerforms any additional unit tasks as requested by the nurseAdheres to assigned meal and break timesFollows facility policies and proceduresFollows Universal Precautions and infection Control PracticesMaintains Corporate Compliance StandardsInteracts positively with residents, family members and visitors in all circumstancesDisplays effective time management skillsRepresents the facility in a professional mannerProvides excellent customer service skillsREQUIREMENTS:Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to follow written and verbal instructionsAble to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindnessPhysical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds#ACACEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
