We are seeking a talented and experienced CNC MachinistManager / Director to expand our CNC Department and capabilities in the creation of exquisite pieces.
Job Description:
As the CNC Machinist Manager/Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our CNC machining operations, from programming and production to quality control and team leadership. You will lead a team of machinists, working closely with designers, jewelers, stone setters, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of projects. A strong commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Collaborate with designers, product developers, and other departments to plan and execute projects, ensuring timely and accurate production of components.
- CNC Programming & Operation: Lead programming, set-up, and operation of CNC machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high standards for quality control, ensuring all components meet rigorous demands
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing workflows and machining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce production times.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all CNC machines, ensuring they are in peak operational condition.
- Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders regarding technical specifications, production timelines, and project progress.
- Work onsite Monday to Friday 9AM-6PM in Midtown Manhattan
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in jewelry or a high-precision industry, ideally 5+ years in a managerial/director role
- Professional expertise in CAD/CAM software (Fusion 360, Siemens NX, and/or others)
- Hands-on experience with HAAS metal Mill and Lathe machines and other high-precision CNC equipment
- Experience with machining precious metals (silver, gold, platinum) preferable
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.
- Prior experience in high-precision industries (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and excellence.
- Proven track record of innovation, creative problem solving, and process improvement
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.) is preferred.
- Relevant technical certifications in CNC machining and/or management are an advantage.
