Job DescriptionThe overall objective of the CNC Machine Operator, 3rd class position is to engage in all activities concerned with learning how to properly produce parts byoperating a CNC machine, and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our qualitystandards. Consistent and accurate modeling and representing of the Point Eight Power brand, mission, vision, valuesand organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organizationSupport the effort of being a best-in-class manufacturer by assisting 1st and 2nd class CNC Machine Operators inoperating either the Punch Press or Break Press machines in order to cut hole or bend materials as needed for thefabrication of Point Eight Power products. This includes the following: Learning and assisting in retrieving the punch list, and parts list, and applicable CNC programs in order tocreate parts as needed per job.  Locating and moving or pulling raw sheet metal material as described by the parts list per job. Assisting the 1st and 2nd class CNC Machine Operators by loading materials onto the machine in preparationfor punch or break, and safely securing materials on the machine with the use of clamps, fingers or other fixtures. Learning how to select the right die clearance, punches, tools, or other attachments needed to complete projectsbased on the specifications of the materials; learn how to install and align them as need to ensure optimalperformance. Learning how to use tools, such as calipers and protractors, to measure finished products to ensure they meetrequirements. Assisting the 1st and 2nd class CNC Machine Operators in staging parts as completed in order to prepare for thenext phase of fabrication.  Performing scheduled and repair maintenance of machines, as required. This also includes maintaining,sharpening and replacing tools, as necessary.  Maintaining a safe, clean, well-organized work area.  Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required. Developing competencies in order to become a 3rd class CNC machine operator.Required SkillsIntrapersonal Skills: Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others.Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures and integrity. • Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Thisincludes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goodsand services.• Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and othertechniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.• Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans,blueprints, drawings, and models.• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include:Trump, Accupress, Allen wrenches, grinders, break press, punch press, forklift, crane, shears and calipers• Technical Experience: Excellent mechanical skills and aptitude in supporting CNC sheet metal equipment, ability tovisuals 3D parts from cut sheets. Good math skills and qualified in basic computer skills.• Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications andprogramming such as Microsoft Office; knowledge of accounting software such as AS 400.• Verbal & Written Communication Skills: This position requires basic skills (ability to read and interpret documentssuch assafety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reportsand correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)• Math Skills: This position requires intermediate skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area,etc.)• Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holdingyour arm and hand in one position. • Visualization: The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts aremoved or rearranged. • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your twohands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.Required Experience2 - 5 years of sheet metal fabrication, preferred. • Less than 1 year of CNC operator experience, preferred.
