What we offer:Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.Payrate: $36.50/hourShift Premiums: 2nd shift = $0.90/hr., 3rd shift = $0.80/hr.Unionized facility with 180-day probationary periodDay 1 Medical & Dental benefitsVision benefits offered after 180 days of employment401k Company MatchTime Off:Five unpaid sick days offered from date of hireThree paid sick days offered after 180-day of employmentTwo weeks' paid vacation offered after eight months of employment (prorated)Eleven paid holidays after 90 days of employmentActive employee life insurance with supplemental opportunitiesSafety glasses and boot reimbursementsOur Bearing Cell Technician will:Read and interpret blueprints, operating sheets, sketches and other related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, machining methods, and sequences.Set up, process, and inspect bearings & bearing components by utilizing manual and numerically controlled milling, turning, EDM and grinding equipment.Generate, assemble and inspect bearings and bearing components.Verify and inspect all features using appropriate inspection methods.Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine.Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle.Load control media such as tape, card, or disk in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions from database.Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.Either through automatic download or manually, input all SPC information as defined by the engineering community to establish and maintain process controls.Operate machine manually to perform non-automated functions, when automatic programming is faulty or if machine malfunctions.Enter commands and manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions and out-of-tolerance machining.Start machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions and deviations.Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence, and to measure parts to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications.Discuss control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.Clean machine, tooling and parts.Perform machine maintenance, housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervision.Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, processes, tools, gages and fixtures.Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years' experience in set-up AND operation of CNC Milling, Turning and Grinding equipment.High School diploma or GED equivalency.Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints and interpreting geometric tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.Ability to setup and operate Manual and CNC Milling, Turning and Grinding equipment.Ability to demonstrate CNC control abilities including editing speeds, feeds, tool offsets and fixture offsets on milling, turning, EDM and grinding equipment.Capability to develop Numeric Control programs during set-ups utilizing G code, M code, mazatrol, or esprit software for EDM.Ability to demonstrate any requested CNC abilities on a test piece, if requested at interview.Demonstrated experience using various measuring instruments including dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, verniers, and .0001 micrometers.Proven skills in following complicated procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.Possess the knowledge and ability to use multi axis grinding contouring and grinding wheel dressing and grit/size selection to ensure that tight tolerances meet blueprints.Experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, fixtures and gages.Ability to train other technicians on Manual and CNC equipment.Ability to move material and racks.Own applicable personal tools.At BWX Technologies, Inc.
