.Principal Duties and Responsibilities*:The CNC Machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. He/ She will work withEngineering or programming to determine a sequence of operations on prototype parts using best knownmethods of manufacture. He/ She has the authority to make program edits when proving out the CNC code onprototype parts. He/ She loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machineoperations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position performs set ups and runs prototype andproduction lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized andclean work environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities toperform the essential functions:•Performs all assigned machine shop operations.•Documents information used for set ups, provides recommendations for tool life management.•Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.•Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safetyprocedures, 5S practices and daily maintenance logs.•Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks.•Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results in accordance with prescribedinspection methods listed on I.P.I (In Process Inspection).•Processes work orders through ERP system.•Completes NCMRs to identify non-conforming product or material.•Monitors required training on a weekly basis.•Trains and mentors CNC Operator 1 and CNC Operator 2 employees on good machining practices.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts andvibration. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee isregularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handleor feel; and reach with hands and arms.
