Join us as we continue to lead the way in aerospace and defense, building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.At Lockheed Martin, we value diversity and are committed to providing equal opportunities to all, creating a workplace where everyone can excel and contribute to our shared mission.Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machines to perform such operations as drilling, boring and milling on raw stock, parts, castings, forgings, dies, machine fixtures and other type tools.Set up and operation of various types grinding machines to form, sharpen, and grind cutters and drills.Utilizes various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials, including unusual non-metallic and exotic materials. Works from and in accordance with the most broad specifications and design criteria including verbal instructions, rough drawings and blueprints as available. General approach to assignments is prescribed, whereas construction methods are largely left to the incumbent.Fabricates the most complicated parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, irregular surfaces, coordinate and exacting tolerances requiring the layout of parts, the selection and use of hand tools and/or the setup and operation of various machine tools. Improvises production aids as necessary to facilitate operations. Employs precision measuring instruments. Reworks and calibrates production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required. Checks each component for accuracy. Learn more here: Global Diversity & Inclusion.#OneLMHotJobsBasic Qualifications:Experience with precision machining, measuring, and set up skills on Manual and N/C (Numerical Control) machine tools.Other required skills include experience with one or more of the following:-interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)-American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and military specifications.Experience with ID/OD grinding and / or centerless grinding and the ability to hold close tolerances.Experience with running an electrical discharge machine (EDM), wire and / or sinker. Must be able to adjust the machine as needed. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
