Maximum Security Products Corp. (MSP) is a Waterford, NY-based Detention Equipment and Miscellaneous Steel contractor and manufacturer. MSP is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in machine operation
- Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
- Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously
- Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker's work
- Follow instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
- Uses measurement tools i.e., and other measuring instruments
- Adjusts tooling & work offsets.
- Minor editing of the current program
- Able to run select machines in the department
- Able to make adjustments to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and quality of parts
- Utilizes DFX, QMS, MAX & SPC databases as needed
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
- Cleaning responsibilities include equipment, chip removal, and work area
- Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Works under supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of machining experience preferred or a recent certificate in precision machining or related field
- Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math, and measuring instruments
- Basic understanding of G&M programming codes
- Good understanding of machining practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Motivated and shows a willingness to learn
- Team player who works in cooperation with others
- Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience operation Cincinnati and Komatsu CNC machines strongly preferred

Work Environment:
- Machine shop environment which may require the use of industrial hearing protection and/or other personal protective equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
