Machinist Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

• Setup initial tooling and offsets

• Run machines

• Meet production part quantities

• Minimize scrap rate

• Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects

• Learn how to perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

• Adhere to all First Article Protocols

• Maintain work order records, including time sheets and work logs

• Learn how to inspect parts and materials for defects and measure dimensions to ensure conformance to industry standards and customer expectations

• Follow safety procedures such as waring protective equipment while operating heavy machinery to prevent injuries

• Communicate with supervisors regarding problems with parts

• Observe equipment operation to determine any malfunctions that need to be addressed by maintenance staff

• Learn to calibrate equipment to ensure it is working properly

• Take pride to work and create quality workmanship

Machinist Level 2 Shift Info

• Day Shift, 07:00 am to 03:30 pm

• Monday - Friday

Machinist Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

• Some schooling or on the job training

• Some experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

• Some ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements

• Some knowledge of the properties of metal and other material

• Aptitude to learn how to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals

• Good at math with analytical abilities

• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

• Ability to stay organized

• Critical thinking

• Excellent math skills

• Able to pass a background check

• Able to pass a drug test

• Able to work in the US
