Position: CNC Machinist/Machine Operator - Entry Level or Experienced (weekend nights)Location: Appleton, WIRequisition ID:: 24-3430We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a unique opportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is not your typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team and will be responsible for operating the vertical turning centers that produce specialized products and components for the aerospace industry. In this role, you will be able to work with new state-of-the art equipment in a safe, clean, air and climate-controlled environment.This is a weekend night shift, Friday-Sunday, 5pm-5am. Scheduled to work 36 hours but paid for 40! This position also includes an additional $1/hour shift differential for working the weekend night shift. Training will be on 1st or 2nd shift (weekdays).A successful CNC Machinist/Machine Operator is a problem solver, safety-focused and understands the importance of precision and quality. To be successful, you must learn ATI, our products, customers and procedures and work collaboratively with other CNC Machinists and cross-functional teams to ensure product is manufactured to quality and customer specifications. We will train a motivated, mechanically inclined candidate!ResponsibilitiesReceives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st piece and in-process check sheets from department supervision indicating the operations to be performedReads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setupsUses operational drawings to determine required dimensions, travels and tolerance to be maintainedOversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made from various types of super alloys with full support of the engineering and programming departmentsUses precision or standard measuring devices that are completely furnished by the company, such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges and profilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specificationsLoads and unloads pieces using an overhead hoistExercises care in handling material before and after the machining operation.Basic Qualifications1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate degree in electrical, mechanical or another related curriculum.SkillsStrong knowledge of basic machining principlesBasic reading, math and measurement comprehension; the ability to read instructions and perform simple measurements is criticalExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teamsAble to work both independently and as part of a high-performing teamStrong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long-term solutionsStrong attention to details and highly organizedAble to lift 50 poundsMust successfully complete pre-employment evaluation.We offer benefit eligibility the 1 st of the month following the date of hire + up to 8% employer 401(k) contribution and match + 15 days of paid time off per year + 12 paid holidays per year.
