$3 Shift Differential The primary duties of this position are to set up, and program CNC manual mills and lathes. Use precision measuring equipment to ensure products are manufactured to the design. Read and understand standard work instructions to complete a task. Work in a team environment to efficiently meet the expectations of the department. Essential Functions/Key Accountabilities:
- Follow direction provided by Supervisor or designee.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and McLanahan equipment as required.

- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings to manufacture parts to the specifications.
- Ability to set up and edit CNC Machine programs, and/or milling machines and lathes utilizing the proper equipment to ensure machines is set up correctly to perform the needed operation.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow standard operation procedures to ensure a consistent approach to manufacturing.
- Maintain a clean work area utilizing 5S principles and daily organizational skills.
- Willing to work assigned shift and overtime at the discretion of management.
- Excellent work ethics and willingness to make suggestions to improve the work environment.
- Hold prescribed tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to understand and utilize programming software for applicable CNC machines.
- Ability to perform daily maintenance of CNC/Manual Machinery.
- Perform daily and regular cleaning of machines, equipment, and work area.
Education/Qualifications/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or other sufficient training/experience with approval of the hiring supervisor/manager, one level above, and the Human Resources Department.
- Two (2) years of experience in a machining role in a production environment.
- Experience using measuring tools, mics, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
- Experience with Master Cam is preferred.
- Past experience rigging and positioning heavy equipment using Jib hoists/overhead cranes.
- Prior experience reading and understanding blueprints to build a product.
- Previous experience working in a Lean manufacturing/ISO environment.
Competencies/ Knowledge/Attributes:
- Ability to select and or grind specialty tools for the required task.
- Full knowledge of working properties of different metals and alloys and the proper cutting feeds and speeds to use on each with different types of cutting tools.
- Knowledge and ability to apply shop mathematics, charts, and tables.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Work in a team environment to successfully reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
