Located in Minonk, Illinois, SMF (an Etnyre International Company) is a full-service metal manufacturing facility that specializes in heavy and light fabrication for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In late 2020, SMF joined the Etnyre International team and is now a part of an exciting growing organization. We are looking for energetic experienced CNC Milling Machine Center Operators to join our team.
Job Summary & Functions: Produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC Milling Machining Centers; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
* Sets up and operates CNC Milling Machine Centers to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
* Understands specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
* Translates instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
* Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machines
* Prepares a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
* Sets machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
* Supervises the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
* Inspects and measures finished products and compares them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
* Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality
Position Qualifications
* Mastered the ability to read measuring tools (calipers, dial bore gages, micrometers, and tape measure)
* Ability to operate overhead cranes and to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
* Technical course certification or equivalent on the job experience.
* Proven ability to run all types of CNC Milling Machine Centers
* Must be able to set up tooling, load programs into CNC controllers, change tooling, set/adjust offsets and presets, and correct non-conforming parts without assistance.
* Ability to recognize machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and initiate corrective action.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings with no assistance
* Mechanical aptitude and good math skills with a keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
* Excellent communication abilities and the ability to train incoming new members and transfers
