Our Johnson City, TN Location is looking for someone to join our team as a CNC Machine Operator on 2nd Shift . This shift is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

SCOPE
This position sets up, operates and tends to grinding machines and related tools that produce fluted endodontic files.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Studies shop orders, DHRs and work instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
Sets and adjusts machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation and gauging.
Activates machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications.
Observes machine operations to detect any problems; make necessary machine adjustments to correct problems.
Adjusts machine parameters using machine touch screen interface.
Inspects or measures endodontics files to determine conformance to required specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges or comparators.
Operates 6-8 CNC Machine Files New Beckhoff (MKNBs).
Performs machine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at start-up.
Selects machine tooling and changeover details to be used, utilizing knowledge of machine, production requirements and process documentation.
Mounts and positions grinding wheels and perform tooling changeovers using hand tools.
Maintains housekeeping (5S and 6S).
Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, or combination of work experience and education; Technical degree a plus (AS or BS)
YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE
Six months work experience and/or training on metal machines preferred.
Minimum of six months to 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience.
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positioning.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
Detailed oriented and self-motivated.
Works well under pressure, can multitask and time management.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedural documents and safety instructions.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate one-on-one and in small group settings.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic computer skills such as data entry, manufacturing software, email and internet applications.
