Additionally responsible for loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirementsDuties and Responsibilities
- Reads work order and drawings for product specifications, such as dimension and tolerances
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, boring machines, drill press, and grinders, to machine forgings to specifications, following blueprints, and/or sketches applying knowledge of machining methods
- For this position, day-to-day responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
- Set up and operate machine shop equipment
- Observe operation of machine and follow Safety rules
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, etc.
- Perform reasonably similar or related duties, as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum one year machine shop experience desired
- Minimum 1 - 3 year of Manual Lathe and / or Mill experience required
- CNC experience, with Mazak and HAAS controls is a plus
- Must be able to read and understand work orders, drawings, and other written instructions
- Must have knowledge of metal characteristics and machining methods
- Basic Mearing Tool knowledge
- Willing to work OT
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
- Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
