The CNC Programming/Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be responsible for fixture design, programming, setting up, and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce CQ Medical's medical device components with exceptional precision and quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Develop and optimize CNC programs to machine medical device components based on engineering specifications and designs.
- Set up CNC machines, including loading raw materials, selecting tooling, and ensuring all parameters are correctly configured for efficient and precise operations.
- Operate CNC machines, monitoring their performance, and making necessary adjustments to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency of production.
- Conduct first article inspections and measurements to ensure that machined parts meet the required tolerances and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments and reprogramming as needed.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machinery and tools, performing installation and operation qualifications, and setting up routine maintenance schedules.
- Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, setups, and tooling configurations, as well as any changes or improvements made to the machining processes.
- Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other team members to refine machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and optimize production.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance machining processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code), CAD/CAM software, and machine operation.
- Basic knowledge of machining processes, tool selection, and toolpath optimization.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
