Electric Materials is looking to hire a skilled CNC Programmer to create and manage programs for all our CNC equipment.
Position Description
A CNC Programmer is responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and proving out a program and setup for all operators. The CNC Programmer will also be required to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process.
To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, one should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC Programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the customer.
Essential Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models
- Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for each job
- Adjust machine settings to the desired product specifications
- Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process
- Train staff on machine and program setup
- Work towards continuous improvement in all facets of the programming and manufacturing process
- Work with the engineering team to come up with a manufacturing plan for each product
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years machining experience in a CNC environment
- Fluent with G-Code
- Experience with Esprit or a similar CAM software
- Experience with Mazatrol
- Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
- High level of understanding on cutting tools and the attributes that make them perform
- Ability to choose the correct cutting tools for the application
- Good math skills (Geometry and Trigonometry)
- Works well with others
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good use of imagination to utilize advance machining concepts
Preferred Experience
- 2-5 years experience with the following software:
- Esprit
- Mazatrol
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- FactoryWiz
- Cutting Tool Training
- SME
- Carbide manufacturer
