Summary:The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computerized numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies while following company policies and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret machining blueprints Set up and operate precision equipment needed to manufacture parts using work orders, travelers, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, or drawingsSets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushing, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices, tramming headsLoads stock into positionVerifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and same work pieces; use measuring devices like calipers to ensure specifications are met Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processesMaintain safe operations by adhering to all company safety policies and proceduresMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairsUse forklift as neededUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesAll other duties assignedEducation:High School Diploma or GEDExperience:1 year of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
