The CNO, Patient Care Services aligns strategic priorities in partnership with the CNE for the system and other members of the senior leadership team. CNO has responsibility, accountability, and authority to lead patient care nursing services at Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital. These responsibilities include direct oversight and responsibility for the daily operations in the nursing care areas at Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital. Inclusive of all areas that perform nursing care.* Emergency Services* Medical/Telemetry Services* Critical Care & Dialysis Services (shared system)* Maternal & Child Health (shared system)* Surgical Services and procedural nursing care* Inpatient Therapy, & Post Medical RehabilitationThis position prioritizes efforts for partnering with leaders that have responsibility for hospital throughput, clinical care and factors that enhance or inhibit appropriate access to care in the most efficient and clinically competent location.This position prioritizes efforts to sustain an elevated patient experience. Utilizes emerging trends, issues and an understanding of the organizations vision, mission and goals to direct the strategic planning, organization, leadership, service delivery, performance improvement, evaluation of the nursing/clinical standards of performance. The position is responsible for innovative planning in all aspects of practice and monitoring practice. The CNO is responsible for the creation and implementation of patient care programs, policies, and standards of care. Also, in the formulation and achievement of designated objectives and goals through strategic planning, financial operations, performance improvement, and employee management. The role is required to maintain organizational accreditations, and source new technologies and strategies to improve patient care, efficiency, and staff engagement. Leading across the continuums of care for better collaboration that accomplishes improved quality, reliability, and efficiency of care delivery.Roles and Responsibilities: (Tasks)* Communication & relationship management IInfluence behaviors, promote diversity, & develop community and staff trust. Develops, monitors, analyzes and employs strategies to improve divisional outcomes and to promote high reliability and accountability in clinical practice. Partners with physician leaders and demonstrates leadership to achieve highly reliable care delivery processes.
