Job DescriptionUtility Operator - Co-Gen - Lincoln, NEThis is a full-time, hourly position. Summary of Job: Utility Operator position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Lincoln, NE Cogeneration facility. Utility Operators work directly with and support the Boiler Operator according to the job duties listed below. Progression into boiler house operation is expected. Job Duties:Active participant in the facility safety program to help ensure the safety of all personnel and maintain compliance with OSHA regulationsRecognize environmental and safety hazards and take actions to ensure they are mitigated so as not to affect employee safety, process quality, and environmental complianceOperate specific equipment including forklift and skid steer loaderLaboratory analysis on water samples to ensure proper boiler and cooling tower water treatmentWater treatment chemical handlingCooling Tower operational support for the entire facilityDaily/weekly/monthly equipment checksData entryTroubleshoot equipment issues as they arisePreventive maintenance on equipmentHousekeeping tasksGeneral laborWilling and able to work a 12-hour shift, rotating between days and nightsWilling and able to work overtime to cover for coworker vacation or call-insSkills Preferred: Must be a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented team player, with solid verbal communication skillsProficient using computer software programs such as Microsoft OfficeAble to read and interpret documents and drawings, possess sound troubleshooting skills, and write detailed reportsHave the ability to affect change through diagnosis, designing, and implementing solutionsMust be able to work independently, assess various situations, and make solid, reliable decisionsEducation and Training Preferred:High School diploma or GEDExperience Preferred:Experience in boiler operation and/or water treatmentPhysical Requirements:Applicant must have regular, prompt attendanceHave the ability to climb stairs and ladders, perform some lifting (50 lbs), sit and stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, working with heights, bending, kneeling, and be able to wear a respiratorCandidate must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, such as hot and cold temperatures and a dusty environmentShift Description and Compensation$29.34 per hour12-hour shifts, 7 to 7Standard rotation is four shifts 7a-7p, four days off, four shifts 7p-7a, four days off.ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
