Coaches/Assistant Coaches leads NWSRA's athletic teams throughout the season, including training sessions, practices, and competitions. They serve as a role model for the athletes, teaching them sportsmanship and proper conduct as an athlete, along with the skills and strategies necessary to play the game well. The Coach/Assistant Coach also serves as the face of the team, representing them in various settings, and they communicate with different groups, including parents, and participants. Coach/Assistant Coach Duties and ResponsibilitiesA successful Coach/Assistant Coach should have extensive experience in the sport and be able to teach others how to play. Their main responsibility is to guide the team throughout the sports season with some specific duties and responsibilities, including:
- Planning and leading practice sessions
- Creating strategies to lead the team to victory in competitions
- Providing feedback and coaching during competitions
- Maintaining player and team records
- Recruiting new athletes for the team
- Mentoring players to develop sportsmanship and respect for the game
- Motivating players to improve
- Maintaining the equipment and facilities to ensure safe playing conditions
Skills and Qualifications
- Understanding of the rules and regulations governing the sport
- Familiarity with specific skills and strategies for the sport
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop athletes
