Advantage Resourcing is looking for a detail-oriented Coater Machine Operator to join our team in Putnam, CT. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a machine that applies solvent-based adhesives to a moving web, ensuring an even, high-quality coating. You'll work closely with the Lead Laminating Operator and team members to maintain machine efficiency, perform product changeovers, and ensure a safe working environment.Pay Rate: Starts at $20/hour, with potential to increase up to $23/hourShift: 3rd Shift (10:45 PM - 7:00 AM) Work Schedule:
- Regular 40-hour work week (Sunday 11:00 PM to Friday 7:00 AM)
- Overtime opportunities (Friday 11:00 PM to Saturday 7:00 AM)
Responsibilities:
- Operate the reverse roll coating head to apply adhesive to a moving web, ensuring a uniform application.
- Monitor machine settings using a computer screen and adjust as necessary to correct any coating flaws.
- Follow written instructions and take verbal direction from the Lead Laminating Operator.
- Perform quick product changeovers and machine cleanups to minimize downtime.
- Use material handling equipment (hoists, forklifts, and barrel trucks) to move large rolls of film and adhesive drums.
- Lift machine parts weighing up to 75 lbs. during setup and cleanup.
- Mix adhesive formulations, using a mechanical dissolver/mixer.
- Work safely with flammable organic solvents, such as M.E.K. and Toluene.
- Maintain a clean work area by disposing of scrap, waste, and debris as it accumulates.
- Assist with coating and laminating operations, especially during breaks or relief periods.
- Follow hazardous waste protocols (training provided).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the department.
Qualifications:
- Ability to safely maneuver a dolly with heavy drums of liquid.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Entry-level position; prior experience with machinery operation and material handling is required.
- Comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned environment that may be dirty or sticky at times, requiring flexibility and a strong focus on safety.
