G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Coating Inspector to join its team in Channelview, TX. Our client is looking for a Coating Inspector that has experience in Coatings Inspection. Your primary function in this role will be to perform quality control or quality assurance at industrial coatings projects. This will be accomplished by reviewing and implementing specs/standards/plans, conducting regular inspections, communicating with the work crew, recordkeeping with a log book and daily reports, in addition to other items. You should be familiar with the current NACE, SSPC, AMPP, relevant ASTM and OSHA standards along with general accepted practices performed during in industrial coatings projects. Responsibilities
- Take ambient conditions
- Perform daily quality control checks
- Communicate with work crew
- Communicate with engineering and management staff
- Work in a safe manner and observe safety rules
- Keep and in-depth log book
- Perform hold-point inspections such as:
- Pre-blast initial condition analysis
- Abrasive blast inspection
- Oversee mixing
- Pre-coating application inspection
- Post-coating application inspection
- Take DFT readings
- Complete timely daily inspection reports
- Work with coating inspection equipment
- Be familiar with relevant coatings removal/application/inspection standards
Qualifications
- Experience with lead coating removal, and/or hazardous materials is helpful, but not required.
- AMPP/NACE Level 2
- Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards
- Attention to detail
- Experience in coatings
