Company: CobbPosition Summary:- This position is responsible for cleaning farm buggies, setter buggies, egg flats, dumping eggs, washing trays, pulling farm and setter buggies back to Egg Room and cleaning and sanitizing the hatchery. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Washes and sanitizes 26 setter buggies using a pressure washer. Places approximately 2,520 egg flats weighing 506 grams into a washer to be washed and sanitized (35%).
- Washes and sanitizes approximately 42 farm buggies using pressure washer (20%).
- Places approximately 1,500 chick boxes weighing an average of 2 pounds into washer to be washed and sanitized (20%).
- Dumping cull eggs, pulling empty farm and setter buggies to the Egg Room and washing and sanitizing both sides of the pull room and the dirty side box room with pressure washer (20%).
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Properly euthanizing weak/ill chicks in accordance with company policy. Must be able to read and write to complete daily checklists (5%).
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements/Safety- The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.- Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly push and pull empty farm and setter buggies on casters weighing approximately 200 pounds. Must regularly lift egg flats weighing 506 grams. Must regularly dump cull eggs weighing approximately 12 pounds. Must regularly lift chick boxes weighing approximately 2 pounds. Must be able to obtain scissor lift certification. Must be able to regularly bend, stoop and reach above head. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. - Tools and Equipment:
- Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, ear plugs, and rubber boots are required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. Safety glasses are required.
- Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants and foamers.
- Safety: Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies. Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include, but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
