Kind of WorkThis position performs highly responsible technical, administrative and supervisory work in the investigation and enforcement of a wide range of laws, regulations, and ordinances governing land use, building, zoning, signs, and related issues. Work includes a combination of supervisoryand field responsibilities; and related work as required.Minimum Qualifications(Original Entrance)A high school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of experience in a job involving general compliance, investigatory, or enforcement experience. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been supervisory. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for (4) four years of the required experience.(Promotional)Permanent status as a Code Enforcement Inspector II or Code Enforcment Field Supervisor (Formerly Housing Inspector Field Supervisor) with the City of New Orleans and four (4) years of full-time experience in the field of housing inspections or code enforcement with the City of New Orleans.Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification.
