Position Information:
The Coder I Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts less than $15000 and any outpatient accounts provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues.
Eligible remote states include NC, FL, GA, SC, SD, TN, TX and VA.
Experience Requirements:
2 Years Coding - Inpatient Required - With High School Diploma No Experience Required Required - With Preferred Education
Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Health Information Management Or Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Or Certified Professional Coder Or Certified Coding Specialist Required - And Certified Professional Coder Or Certified Coding Specialist Required - With High School Diploma
